June 16, 2004--It is with the deepest sadness that I report the passing of Richard Scott Pressler on Sunday morning, June 6, 2004. Scott died of a heart attack in a hotel room in Pittsburgh while attending a rugby tournament. He was a resident of Washington, DC and was 41.

Besides friends and family, Scott’s passions included the beach, movies, music, and, of course, sports. He was particularly passionate about rugby, and was the founder of the Silverbacks RFC, joining the Connecticut Yankee’s RFC team in 1994, and in 2003, joined the Rocky Gorge RFC in Laurel, MD. His rugby mates have established the “Scott ‘Boz’ Pressler Memorial Trust”. This trust will be used for the development of rugby in the Norwalk (CT) community and also to assist injured and/or rugby players in need.
